To be honest these few days have really been about people. I mean a person we know representing Oklahoma in the Miss America Pagaent brought us here and by the way you ROCKED Taylor. Then we had the chance to talk with a ton of awesome people who waited on us in some fashion none of which originated from this area.
Today we met another Ethiopian. He's been here driving a cab for 5 years alone saving and doing the paperwork to get his wife here. She arrives next week. He hasn't seen her in 2 1/2 years.
When asked why did you want to come over here? His answer, "Everyone does! In America we all have a chance. A chance for a better life."
How bad do you think your life is as an America? We get ticked when the grocery store is out of 2% milk (which I hate by the way, 2% that is). But at least God has blessed us to live in a country that offers it to us and the freedom to express ourselves when we are displeased.
And at least we serve a God that always give us a chance no matter where we're at in our messed up lives. Just gotta look up to see the mountains top and remember we are made to serve in the valleys!
Stop tonight and take a LONG look at all you have to be thankful for!!
Were coming home tomorrow!! Please have ice melted for us!
